Hyundai Auto Canada has disclosed the pricing details for its upcoming 2024 Kona Electric, the battery-powered variant of the latest Kona generation. The base model of this electric vehicle will commence at $46,399, while the fully-equipped Ultimate trim is set to start at $51,199.
The extensively revamped Kona promises an array of enhanced features and technological advancements, all within a competitively priced range. Fitted with a 64.8 kWh battery, the 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric boasts an estimated range of 420 kilometers, along with impressive acceleration facilitated by its 150 kW (201 HP) electric motor.
Standard features on the 2024 Hyundai Kona include a 12.3-inch touchscreen housing a next-generation infotainment system, Hyundai’s Smartsense safety features, 17-inch alloy wheels, and wireless connectivity supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Distinctive elements of the Kona Electric include forward “frunk” storage, active grille shutters, i-PEDAL driving mode, and a Smart Regenerative System that adapts regeneration based on real-time traffic conditions. The Ultimate trim offers additional amenities such as a Bose premium audio system, a head-up display, a wireless device charger, and the Digital Key technology.
Prepared for winter conditions, the Kona Electric comes equipped with standard features like heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a heat pump to optimize charging performance. Charging estimates for the 2024 Kona Electric indicate a recharge time from 10 percent to 80 percent in approximately 43 minutes with 400V fast-charging capability.
In terms of design, the 2024 Kona Electric features a shift-by-wire gear selector relocated from the center console to a stalk behind the steering wheel, enhancing storage space in the open console area. The ergonomic layout emphasizes a larger, wider interior, offering versatility and comfort for both driver and passengers.
Expected to hit Canadian dealerships in December 2023, the 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric aims to continue the success of its predecessors, with the Kona model having been a best-seller in its class and among Hyundai’s top three models in Canada since 2019.
