As the unveiling of the Tesla Cybertruck approaches on November 30, the focus has turned to the much-discussed front trunk, or “frunk,” following previous revelations about the innovative tonneau cover. Recent footage from what appeared to be a Cybertruck advertisement shoot at Hermosa Beach captured the driver and onlookers manually opening the frunk, dispelling some of the mystery surrounding its functionality.
The Top Gear crew, reportedly granted access to a review unit by Tesla for an upcoming episode, inadvertently showcased the frunk’s manual opening mechanism during the filming. Questions persist about whether these review units mirror the specifications and features of the retail model, but a recent encounter at a Supercharger provided additional insights.
According to a conversation with the Cybertruck’s purported “owner,” the frunk is confirmed to be powered, allowing both opening and closing actions. This revelation adds a layer of sophistication to the Cybertruck’s design, contributing to its utility and convenience for users.

Additionally, details emerged about the pickup’s suspension system, with an option to lower the Cybertruck’s suspension from its lifted mode when the vehicle is parked. This feature aims to facilitate easier entry and exit for the driver, enhancing the overall user experience.
Contrary to expectations, the Cybertruck’s doors do not open automatically like the Model X’s wing doors, as they lack motorization. Instead, a capacitive button is said to activate the door-opening mechanism when pressed, a departure from Tesla’s previous door designs.
However, a new mystery emerged during the conversation with the Cybertruck’s driver, who revealed that the vehicle’s interior was concealed. When questioned about the reason for the cover, the driver hinted that the “software/UI will be the best part” of the Cybertruck experience, adding an element of anticipation to the impending release.
As the November debut approaches, these revelations and mysteries contribute to the growing intrigue surrounding the Tesla Cybertruck, extending the timeline from Elon Musk’s initial September launch tease earlier in the year.
