Lucid Motors has announced it will introduce its electric crossover, dubbed the Gravity, at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 16. Scheduled for production in late 2023, the company describes the upcoming model as an “ultra high-performance luxury SUV” and a “true force of nature.”
Though full details will be disclosed next month, Lucid has already touted the Gravity as the most aerodynamic crossover on the market. The vehicle is expected to feature an extra-large frunk (front trunk) and a clamshell rear opening that promises effortless access and spacious cargo space.
The interior design aims for a “sanctuary-like” experience, featuring what the company refers to as the “finest appointments.” While specifics remain scarce, the Gravity will offer multiple seating configurations, including options for five, six, or seven seats. Additionally, an expansive glass roof and lounge-like second-row seats are among the anticipated features.
While performance specifications have not yet been revealed, Lucid claims that the Gravity will boast a range “beyond anything else on the market,” with the exception of its Air model, which has an EPA-estimated range of up to 516 miles (830 km).
Moreover, the Gravity is set to include features like bi-directional charging and an optional towing capability. It will also have a “compliant, sports-tuned air suspension,” according to the automaker. Lucid notes that the Gravity “embodies everything we’ve learned in creating … Air, and advances that vision to reimagine what an SUV can offer.”
