In a significant development, Tesla has taken down the curtains that concealed the casting area at Giga Texas, signaling a major milestone towards commencing production of the highly anticipated Cybertruck.
Earlier this year, Tesla commenced the installation of a colossal 9,000-ton IDRA Giga Press machine, intended for creating castings specifically designed for the Cybertruck. Initially discovered by diligent drone pilots who managed to catch a glimpse through a bank of factory windows, Tesla soon shielded the view with improvised black curtains, leaving the progress hidden from prying eyes. Speculations arose regarding the potential installation of a second Giga Press at Giga Texas, but without visibility, confirmation remained uncertain.
Recent sightings of camouflaged Cybertruck units, presumed to represent the final design, have fueled the growing anticipation for the electric pickup. Notably, the removal of the curtains now reveals the presence of both Giga Press machines, which have been successfully installed and are fully operational.
This breakthrough was captured by drone pilot Joe Tegtmeyer, who spotted the two Giga Press machines.

Notably, these Giga Press machines have already commenced production of castings, as confirmed by our recent reports. Tesla has begun accumulating these castings outside Giga Texas, utilizing the same storage racks that are employed for Model Y castings. This indicates that these castings are not merely test pieces destined for scrap or recycling; rather, they will be utilized in the actual production of Cybertrucks.
With production on the verge of commencement, all signs are pointing towards a potential delivery event in September, aligning with Elon Musk’s previous suggestions. The long-awaited Cybertruck’s arrival appears imminent, and Tesla enthusiasts eagerly await its debut.
