Toyota Unveils bZ Sport Crossover Concept and bZ FlexSpace Concept at Auto Shanghai 2023

Toyota has revealed two new electric vehicle concepts at this year’s Auto Shanghai, which are set to become part of the brand’s bZ lineup. The bZ Sport Crossover Concept and the bZ FlexSpace Concept are not part of Toyota’s planned ten new EV models for the next three years, but they will precede two production models designed for the Chinese market.

The bZ Sport Concept is a joint venture between Toyota and BYD, but Toyota will produce and sell it. The sporty concept has been designed with the younger Generation Z in mind, featuring an active style and evolving capabilities that improve with every software update. It includes driver assistance and automatic parking for an enhanced driving experience.

The bZ FlexSpace, on the other hand, is a family-oriented concept co-developed with GAC and will be sold and produced under the GAC Toyota Motor joint venture brand. The vehicle aims to provide a cozy home-like feeling for the entire family, with ample cabin space allocated to each passenger. Advanced comfort and safety features have been implemented to ensure a long cruising range away from the plug.

While the two EVs will debut next year, they will remain exclusive to the Chinese market. Toyota’s focus on electric vehicles is evident, with the brand making significant strides in developing new models that cater to a wide range of consumers’ needs. With these latest concepts, Toyota is undoubtedly taking steps to create a more sustainable future while still meeting the demands of its customers.
