Tesla’s Cybertruck Prototype Spotted Doing On-Road Testing: Closer to Final Production Form

The Tesla Cybertruck has been one of the most talked-about vehicles in recent times, with many eagerly waiting for its release. It’s an all-electric pickup truck that promises to be both powerful and sustainable, and its futuristic design has garnered a lot of attention.

Recently, a prototype of the Cybertruck was spotted doing on-road testing at the company’s test track in Fremont, California. The vehicle was filmed from above, and it showcased several features that have become synonymous with the Cybertruck, including the controversial single giga-wiper, triangular side mirrors, panoramic glass roof, and a round steering wheel.

While the wheels did not have the patented black covers seen on other occasions, it’s clear that Tesla has deployed multiple test mules ahead of the model’s production start this summer, as confirmed by Elon Musk during the firm’s Q4 earnings call. In fact, a more production-ready Cybertruck sighting was reported recently, which featured a closed tonneau cover, triangular side mirrors, and aero covers on wheels wearing all-season tires.

Tesla has also released a teaser of the crash testing phase, which indicates that the company is quickly burning through the steps required to make the Cybertruck ready for certification and mass production. This is further reinforced by the fact that the company has even ramped up its hiring at the Texas Gigafactory for Cybertruck-related jobs, and a second Giga Press is on its way to be assembled at the Austin facility.

The Cybertruck will reportedly feature a massive front trunk similar to that of the Ford F-150 Lightning, where the whole front end of the car raises to reveal a spacious storage compartment. Additionally, it will be the first vehicle in Tesla’s portfolio to use a 48-volt battery for the low-voltage system.

As the Cybertruck moves closer to production, it’s exciting to see more details emerging about this highly anticipated vehicle. Tesla is clearly dedicated to making the Cybertruck a success, and with the progress being made, it won’t be long before the Cybertruck is hitting the roads in its final production form. The Cybertruck promises to be a game-changer in the world of electric vehicles and is sure to attract a lot of attention upon its release.
