Rollaway Partners with GM’s BrightDrop to Create Luxury Electric Van, the “Hotel Room of Tomorrow”

Rollaway, a Silicon Valley-based sustainable hospitality startup, has partnered with GM’s BrightDrop to create a luxury electric van that promises to be the “hotel room of tomorrow.” This innovative vehicle is set to offer five-star services and amenities, all while boasting an impressive range of 250 miles.

The startup is aiming to revolutionize the way people think about lodging by introducing a new kind of experience that combines hospitality, technology, mobility, and sustainability. With Rollaway’s new electric camper, guests will be able to travel to multiple destinations without the need for rental cars or booking several different hotel rooms or Airbnbs.

To make this unique experience possible, Rollaway is leveraging General Motors’ commercial electric vehicle startup, BrightDrop. This partnership will allow the creation of a sustainable upscale hotel experience that lets guests adventure in luxury from anywhere. BrightDrop has worked with top-tier clients like Walmart and FedEx, introducing zero-emission electric vans to reduce emissions from commercial fleets.

Rollaway’s electric van platform will offer several accommodation options, including the GlampVan, QuadVan, and LuxVan. The GlampVan, which sleeps up to two guests, features a queen size bed, full bathroom, living/dining area, and kitchenette. The QuadVan sleeps up to four guests and comes with a queen size bunk bed and all the amenities of the GlampVan. The LuxVan, on the other hand, offers an upscale luxury suite experience with a plush queen-size bed, upscale furniture and decor, a spa-class bathroom, a spacious living/dining area, and a fully equipped kitchenette.

Guests will also be treated to five-star services and amenities, such as spa-class toiletries, a set of YETI amenities, farm-to-table breakfast packages from local, sustainable farms, an on-demand app for room service, housekeeping, and more, a live, personal virtual concierge to help with travel itineraries, and housekeeping on the go with fresh linens and full services coming soon. To keep guests connected off the grid, Rollaway’s electric van will offer Starlink satellite ultra-high-speed WiFi.
