Volvo Cars has released the new electric car, the Volvo EX90, as the biggest electric flagship SUV (9/11). The new electric car, the Volvo EX90, spiritually continues the Volvo XC90’s entry into the era of electric cars and is a new rival to the Tesla Model X and BMW iX.
Now, in order to face the two rivals who launched earlier, Volvo equipped the new Volvo EX90 electric car with a drive system that is no less powerful.
Having two electric motors that drive all wheels, the EX90 comes with a choice of 402 hp and 770 Nm of torque and 496 hp and 910 Nm of torque.
To support its performance, Volvo does not forget to provide a battery with a capacity of 111 kWh which has an estimated mileage of 600 kilometers.
Of course, besides the powerful electric drive and super large battery, the Volvo EX90 is also equipped with a variety of advanced features.
Starting from the exterior, Volvo has embedded a LIDAR sensor developed by Luminar on the roof of the Volvo EX90.
The LIDAR sensor works with camera sensors, radar and the NVIDIA DRIVE computer to detect and image any objects around the car.
Then in the interior, Volvo also embeds cameras, infrared sensors and capacitive sensors on the steering wheel to monitor the driver.
The job of the EX90’s interior sensors is to monitor the driver when he starts to become unfocused or tired.
Volvo says that the existence of these sensors prepares the Volvo EX90 for a fully autonomous driving feature without being supervised by the driver.
But for now, the Volvo EX90 features Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Pilot Assist, whose function still does not replace the driver.
Other features in the EX90 are a 14.5-inch central screen, digital instruments and a head-up display which is visually designed using the Unreal Engine.
The EX90 center screen also has Google Built In complete with Google Assistant and Google Maps, compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay, and standard 5G connectivity.
