From next season, Hankook will be the technical partner and exclusive tire supplier for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Hankook officially announced the new Hankook iON racing tire in front of Formula E representatives and the media at The Swarovski Crystal Worlds event in Austria.
This new tire line claims is specifically aimed at meeting the needs of Formula E and future mobility in an environmentally friendly manner, without compromising driving performance.
About 30% of the new tires designed specifically for third-generation Formula E racing cars are made from environmentally friendly materials.
Jamie Reigle, CEO of Formula E, said, “We are delighted to welcome Hankook to the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Hankook is the perfect partner for Formula E’s new Gen3 auto racing championship.”
Currently, Formula E teams can use tires that are suitable for both dry and wet conditions, in order to save energy. Durable tire durability is also another pioneer step. After the race weekend ends, Hankook will recycle all tires that are claimed to support environmental sustainability.
This marks the first time motorsport fans will see Hankook tires in a racing championship at the Mexico City E-Prix on January 14, 2023, a total of 40,000 spectators are claimed to fill the race stands.
