Acura has recently released a short teaser video that gives us a glimpse of what the EV called the Precision EV looks like.
Touted as the company’s future car, the Acura brand explained that the Precision EV will have a higher aesthetic value than other EVs. Scheduled to debut on August 18 at Monterey Car Week, Acura promises to show a more detailed full look.
In the clip, the Precision EV appears to use a blue body with a more futuristic grille design. Although not many parts are shown, the proportions look like an SUV or crossover. This is actually quite reasonable, because Acura does have an SUV project together with General Motors.
The Precision EV concept seems to explain that the company has plans to move towards electrification as soon as possible. They even have a target if 50 percent of their sales come from electric vehicles by 2030.
Neither Honda’s EVs nor Acura’s to date are both known to use GM’s Ultium platform, so it’s possible that the Japanese manufacturer will have an EV of nearly the same size as the Cadillac Lyriq in North America.
The Cadillac Lyriq is basically a premium crossover that packs a 102 kWh battery pack with a driving range of up to 502 km on a single charge. It is possible that the Honda Prologue EV and Acura Precision EV will have a similar configuration to the Lyriq.
