US Army to evaluate Canoo EVs for military operational and garrison environments

The United States Army is currently considering the use of EVs (electric vehicles). Earlier, there was news that the Army asked General Motors to provide a Hummer EV for analysis and demonstration.

This follows a November 2021 report stating that the United States Army is very pleased with the GM Defense electric Light Reconnaissance Vehicle.

Apparently, GM is not the only manufacturer to get this award. The United States Army also requested Canoo to provide vehicles to be analyzed for use in operational and garrison environments.

Until recently, Canoo was an EV company based in the United States that produced vehicles that appeared to be anime-inspired, but this has changed.

Canoo’s stock price jumped 53% in one day after Walmart announced that it was buying 4,500 Canoo Lifestyle Delivery vehicles for long-haul delivery. The interest expressed by the United States Army is likely to boost the stock price even further.

“As a United States company based at heart, it is an honor to be selected by the United States Army,” said Tony Aquila, investor, chairman and CEO of Canoo.

“This is another opportunity to prove our proprietary technology, which is customizable and adaptable to different use cases and specific environments.”

The versatile Canoo platform was also recently selected by NASA for a crew vehicle to deliver astronauts to the Artemis launch site for a lunar mission to establish the first long-term presence on the moon.
