Quantum Solutions announced that it has started production of the FOMM ONE EV model in Thailand which is billed as one of the smallest four-seater EV models in the world.
Quantum Solutions called the start of production of the FOMM ONE EV a milestone for “Quantum’s transition to providing affordable and reliable mobility solutions”.
As noted earlier, the FOMM ONE EV is described by the company as “one of the smallest four-seater EV models in the world”. This car has a 10 kW drivetrain with 560 Nm of torque. The company hasn’t officially announced the FOMM One EV yet.
The FOMM ONE EV was originally developed by FOMM Co. In January, Quantum Solutions acquired the rights to sell and manufacture small EVs in several territories through a joint venture with FOMM.
“Thailand plays a pivotal role in auto manufacturing in Asia and the potential for its domestic EV market cannot be overlooked, which is why we are excited that Thailand is a part of our global strategy,” said Simon Zhang, Quantum’s chief executive.
Thailand itself has ambitious targets regarding their electrification plan. Thailand plans to increase the number of registered EVs to 1.2 million units around 2030. That number is more than six times the number of registered EVs by 2020.
The Thai government will ban the sale of internal combustion vehicles from 2035.
