Waymo has begun offering driverless rides to and from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, expanding its autonomous ride-hailing service less than two months after launching public operations in the city.
Dedicated Pickup and Drop-Off Zones
Passengers using Waymo’s airport service will be picked up and dropped off at designated autonomous vehicle zones at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. The company said access will initially be limited to a small number of riders before the service opens to all customers.
Waymo began offering public rides in Las Vegas in September 2026 and currently serves a 24-square-mile area of the city. Harry Reid International Airport is the sixth major airport in its network, joining Phoenix Sky Harbor, Nashville International, San Antonio International, San Francisco International and San José International airports.
Competition for Airport Robotaxi Services
Waymo’s arrival adds competition to Las Vegas airport transportation. Amazon-owned Zoox already offers rides at the airport, while Tesla and Uber are preparing to expand their robotaxi operations in the city.
In August, Nevada regulators approved permits allowing Tesla and Uber to deploy thousands of robotaxis on local streets over the following year.
Waymo Expands Its Wider Network
Previously, Waymo began offering driverless rides to and from Nashville International Airport (BNA), expanding its autonomous ride-hailing service in Tennessee. On October 14, 2026, the company also opened its fully autonomous ride-hailing service to the general public in San Antonio, San Diego and Tampa, allowing residents and visitors to book driverless rides through the Waymo app.
Beyond the United States, Waymo is preparing to test its autonomous vehicles in Madrid, Spain, ahead of a planned commercial robotaxi launch in 2027. The company has also identified Munich as its first planned market in the European Union and is preparing to launch operations in London. In Canada, Waymo has confirmed plans to introduce its robotaxi service in Toronto in 2028.
