Kia India has partnered with Jio-bp to integrate their electric vehicle (EV) charging networks, expanding public charging access for Kia EV owners across India. The agreement adds more than 7,000 Jio-bp charging points to Kia’s K-Charge platform and will also make Kia’s dealership-based fast chargers accessible through Jio-bp’s charging app.
The integration will bring the total number of charging points available through K-Charge, which operates within the MyKia app, to more than 23,500.
Charging Access Through a Single Platform
Jio-bp’s network spans more than 1,100 sites across over 300 cities. Through K-Charge, Kia EV drivers will be able to locate charging stations, plan routes, start and monitor charging sessions, and make payments.
The agreement also enables two-way network access. Kia plans to progressively add its 125 currently active direct-current (DC) fast chargers, along with future installations, to the Jio-bp pulse charging app. The companies have not announced a timeline for completing the integration.
Atul Sood, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Kia India, said the partnership is intended to simplify charging access for customers.
“At Kia India, we are committed to making every aspect of the EV ownership experience as seamless and rewarding as the vehicles themselves. The integration of Jio-bp’s extensive charging network with K-Charge on the MyKia app is another step in this direction, giving Kia EV customers greater access to charging options through a single platform. By enhancing convenience, choice, and accessibility, we are further strengthening the overall Kia EV experience and supporting the growing adoption of electric mobility in India.”
Expanding the Public Charging Network
Jio-bp is the operating brand of Reliance BP Mobility, a joint venture between Reliance Industries and BP. Its charging infrastructure includes DC fast chargers rated between 60 kW and 480 kW, with locations along major national highways and in urban centres.
The company reports more than 7,000 charging points across over 1,100 sites in more than 300 cities, with network uptime of 96%.
The new agreement builds on Kia India’s efforts to broaden charging access through partnerships with third-party operators. In February, the automaker partnered with state-owned Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited to add more than 3,000 charging points to K-Charge.
By linking the two networks, the companies aim to increase the number of charging locations available to drivers through their respective digital platforms.
