Charge_iN, Mahindra’s electric vehicle charging subsidiary, has reached 200 live EV charging points across India as the company continues to expand its public charging network.
Mahindra plans to scale Charge_iN to 250 stations with approximately 1,000 charging points across India by December 2027. The company has also opened its HP Auto Care Centre in Sajgaon, Pune, on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway as the first Charge_iN station to become operational under its collaboration with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL).
First HPCL Collaboration Site Goes Live
Mahindra and HPCL announced their partnership in March 2026 to expand EV charging infrastructure across India by leveraging HPCL’s nationwide fuel station network.
The Sajgaon site on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway is the first Charge_iN location to become operational under the partnership. The location extends Mahindra’s charging network onto one of India’s major intercity travel corridors.
The collaboration is intended to support the expansion of public EV charging infrastructure by combining Charge_iN’s charging network with HPCL’s existing retail fuel station footprint.
180 kW Chargers Support Mahindra EVs
Charge_iN stations exclusively use 180 kW dual-gun chargers. The charging equipment is capable of supporting Mahindra’s electric SUV lineup, including the XEV 9e and other models based on the company’s INGLO electric vehicle platform.
The Charge_iN subsidiary was announced in November 2025 as Mahindra expanded its focus on electric vehicle infrastructure following strong electric car sales.
The company subsequently expanded its ultrafast public EV charging network to 50 live locations before reaching the latest milestone of 200 charging points.
Broader Charging Access for Mahindra EV Owners
In addition to its own charging network, Mahindra said its EV customers can access approximately 35,000 public charging points across India.
These include HP eCharge stations operated by various charge point operators and accessible through the Me4U app.
Charge_iN’s expansion is aimed at increasing access to high-power public charging as Mahindra expands its electric vehicle lineup and the use of its INGLO platform.
The planned expansion to approximately 1,000 charging points by December 2027 will further extend the network across major travel routes and other locations in India.
