Nio delivered 35,934 vehicles in July, an increase of 70.98% from a year earlier, although deliveries declined 11.49% from June following two consecutive months of growth.
The July figure marked the company’s first month-on-month decline in three months after June deliveries reached 40,597 vehicles, the second-highest monthly total in Nio’s history.
Deliveries Increase Year-on-Year
The main Nio brand delivered 20,008 vehicles in July, up 57.9% from a year earlier but down 8.7% from June.
Family-focused brand Onvo delivered 10,155 vehicles, representing a 69.93% year-on-year increase and a 13.52% decline from the previous month.
Firefly, Nio’s boutique compact electric vehicle brand, delivered 5,771 vehicles, up 143.91% from a year earlier while declining 16.92% from June.
During the first seven months of 2026, Nio delivered 227,057 vehicles, an increase of 67.98% compared with the same period last year.
Cumulative deliveries reached 1,224,649 vehicles as of July 31.
ES8 Continues to Drive Premium Sales
Nio’s flagship third-generation ES8 reached its 130,000th cumulative delivery on July 22, approximately 305 days after deliveries began in September 2025.
The model added 10,000 deliveries in about one month after reaching the 120,000-unit milestone in June.
Although ES8 deliveries declined to 8,969 units in June from May, Deutsche Bank previously said some customers delayed purchases while waiting for the newly introduced five-seat version.
The five-seat ES8 was launched on July 9, with deliveries beginning the following day.
The new variant starts at 382,800 yuan (US$56,380), including the battery, around 5.9% below the starting price of the three-row version.
The expanded lineup now offers five-, six- and seven-seat configurations across the premium large SUV segment.
According to the company, ES8 retail sales totaled 78,618 units during the first half of 2026, ranking first in both China’s large SUV segment and the market for vehicles priced above 400,000 yuan.
Higher-End Models Support Margins
Nio said demand for its flagship models has improved the company’s sales mix.
The average transaction price for the main Nio brand reached 443,000 yuan in June, supported by higher-priced premium models.
Deutsche Bank expects the company to achieve non-GAAP break-even in the second quarter, citing stronger contributions from higher-margin vehicles.
Separately, Firefly launched the first model in its new Halo series on July 20.
The design-focused model starts at 133,300 yuan, about 11% higher than the standard Firefly version.
The Firefly brand has now surpassed 70,000 cumulative vehicle deliveries.
