McLaren will join Formula E after Take over Mercedes-EQ team

McLaren has confirmed that it will compete in Formula E in the 2022-23 season, they take over the Mercedes EQ team which has been confirmed to withdraw from the Formula E championship.

The entry of the British team is indeed starting to get serious in the electric motorsport event, previously they also participated in the Extreme E series for this year. McLaren enters Formula E in its ninth season under the auspices of McLaren Racing.

The current head of the Mercedes team, Ian James, is rumored to remain at the helm of the Formula E team. “Today’s announcement highlights the next exciting chapter in the team’s development. McLaren itself has not announced how the line-up of its drivers, it is possible that Stoffel Vandoorne and Nyck De Vries will be maintained, considering that Stoffel’s performance has been very bright this season, and is ranked first in the standings. While Nyck was the world champion last season.

For suppliers of resources as well as agreements with sponsors to help fund the team, further information will be provided.
