Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) has launched two new battery-electric variants of the Aito M6, significantly lowering the entry price of the popular mid-to-large-size SUV.
The new models are priced between 229,800 yuan ($34,010) and 249,800 yuan, expanding the vehicle’s appeal to a broader range of customers in China’s highly competitive electric vehicle market.
Lower-priced BEV variants join the lineup
The launch marks a substantial reduction in the starting price for the Aito M6’s battery-electric range. Previously, the lowest-priced BEV version available started at 279,800 yuan.
With the introduction of the new variants, customers can now access the Aito M6 BEV lineup for 50,000 yuan less than before.
Huawei’s HIMA business said buyers will also be eligible for purchase incentives valued at up to 56,000 yuan, along with a one-month complimentary trial of Huawei’s ADS Pro Plus intelligent driving package.
Two versions with different technology levels
The entry-level Aito M6 BEV Max is priced at 229,800 yuan and comes equipped with in-cabin LiDAR technology while omitting the air suspension system found on higher-end variants.
The model features Huawei’s ADS Pro Plus intelligent driving platform, which supports urban navigation assistance, automated parking functions and a range of advanced driver-assistance capabilities.
The higher-specification Aito M6 BEV Max+ is priced at 249,800 yuan and includes Huawei’s 896-channel image-grade LiDAR system as well as an air suspension setup.
Huawei positions the Max+ variant as the more advanced offering, supporting the company’s next-generation ADS intelligent driving technology.
Shared battery and powertrain
Both new versions utilize Huawei’s 81-kWh Giant Whale battery platform and feature a rear-mounted electric motor producing a maximum output of 227 kW (304 hp).
The Aito M6 BEV Max offers a CLTC-rated driving range of 602 kilometers, while the Max+ extends that figure to 630 kilometers.
Dimensions unchanged
The overall design and dimensions remain unchanged from existing Aito M6 models.
The SUV measures 4,960 mm in length, 1,985 mm in width and 1,736 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm.
The vehicle continues to compete in China’s increasingly crowded mid-to-large-size electric SUV segment.
Key model for HIMA and Aito
The Aito brand was jointly created by Huawei and Seres and remains the largest and most successful brand within Huawei’s HIMA ecosystem.
The Aito M6 officially entered the market on April 22 and has quickly become one of the alliance’s most important volume products.
According to retail sales data, the Aito M6 recorded 18,148 deliveries in May alone, making it one of HIMA’s strongest-selling vehicles.
Expanding market reach
The introduction of lower-priced BEV variants reflects Huawei and Seres’ strategy of broadening the Aito M6’s market reach while maintaining access to advanced intelligent driving technologies.
As competition intensifies across China’s electric vehicle market, manufacturers are increasingly introducing more affordable variants to attract customers without sacrificing key technology features.
For Huawei, the new Aito M6 variants further strengthen HIMA’s position in the fast-growing intelligent electric vehicle segment and support its broader ambitions in the automotive industry.
