Voyah Automotive, the premium brand of Dongfeng Motor, has launched the Voyah Taishan X8 in China, featuring multiple technologies supplied by Huawei.
The Taishan X8 officially went on sale on Friday with a starting price of 292,900 yuan ($43,110), approximately 10,000 yuan below the pre-sale price announced in April.
Voyah is offering the SUV in five variants, including three plug-in hybrid electric vehicle models and two battery-electric versions.
The PHEV lineup is priced between 292,900 yuan and 359,900 yuan, while the BEV variants are priced at 339,900 yuan and 379,900 yuan.
The SUV measures 5,200 millimeters in length with a wheelbase of 3,090 millimeters, which the company said provides 6.1 square meters of cabin space.
The Taishan X8 is equipped with Huawei’s HarmonySpace cockpit system alongside dual 15.6-inch smart displays.
The vehicle also incorporates Huawei’s Qiankun ADS intelligent driving platform and features four LiDAR sensors, including Huawei’s 896-channel image-grade LiDAR system.
According to Voyah, the entry-level Max PHEV variant uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing a combined output of 475 kilowatts, while the higher-spec Ultra version delivers 490 kilowatts.
The company said the PHEV variants can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in as little as 5.5 seconds.
Voyah said the plug-in hybrid versions offer battery-only CLTC driving ranges of either 245 kilometers or 370 kilometers, while combined range figures reach up to 1,506 kilometers with a fully charged battery and full fuel tank.
The battery-electric versions use a 120-kilowatt-hour battery pack and offer CLTC ranges of up to 727 kilometers.
Built on an 800-volt architecture with 5C fast-charging capability, the Taishan X8 can recharge from 20% to 80% in approximately 10 minutes, according to the company.
Voyah said buyers placing deposits before June 30 will receive subsidies of up to 10,000 yuan as competition intensifies in China’s premium EV segment.
The company described the Taishan X8 launch as part of a broader strategy to expand its premium vehicle lineup and strengthen market share in 2026.
Earlier the same day, Voyah also previewed another upcoming model, the Voyah Passion S, which the company said will target the growing sporty luxury SUV segment.
The Passion S is expected to compete with the Xiaomi YU7 from Xiaomi and is scheduled for launch later this year.
