Leapmotor, in partnership with Stellantis, has launched its new electric fastback sedan, the Leapmotor B05, in Europe, with orders now open in selected markets from €26,900. The model marks an expansion of the company’s lineup beyond SUVs and compact city cars in the region.
The B05 was first presented in Germany during IAA Mobility last year, with its interior details revealed at a later stage. It was subsequently introduced in China before arriving in Europe. With a length of 4.43 meters and a width of 1.88 meters, the vehicle is positioned within the C-segment and features a fastback design intended to combine styling and practicality.

Leapmotor’s current European portfolio includes SUV models such as the Leapmotor B10 and Leapmotor C10, as well as the Leapmotor T03. The addition of the B05, alongside the planned B03X urban SUV, reflects the company’s effort to broaden its offering across multiple vehicle segments.
The B05 uses a cell-to-chassis (CTC) battery structure, integrating the battery into the vehicle’s body to support structural rigidity and packaging efficiency. Two battery options are available, with capacities of 56.2 kWh and 67.1 kWh, providing a WLTP driving range between 401 km and 482 km. The vehicle supports DC fast charging at up to 174 kW, enabling charging from 30% to 80% in approximately 17 minutes under suitable conditions.

The model is equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor delivering 160 kW (218 hp) and 240 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The rear-wheel-drive layout, combined with a balanced weight distribution, is intended to support stable and predictable driving characteristics.
In terms of design, the B05 features coupe-inspired proportions, a wide stance, and frameless doors. Aerodynamic elements, including an active grille shutter, front air curtains, and side deflectors, contribute to a drag coefficient of 0.26. Exterior features include LED headlamps, a full-width rear light bar, and 19-inch alloy wheels, with several color options available.

The interior adopts a minimalist layout, with a 14.6-inch central touchscreen and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. Additional features include a panoramic sunroof, multiple storage compartments, and eco-leather materials. Rear seats offer a reclining function, and total cargo capacity reaches up to 1,400 liters when the rear seats are folded.
Safety features include a high-strength body structure, seven airbags, and a suite of 21 driver assistance systems supported by multiple sensors and cameras, enabling Level 2 driver assistance functions. The model is expected to undergo Euro NCAP safety testing.

The vehicle operates on Leap OS 4.0 Plus, with connected services accessible through a mobile application. “Users can remotely control key vehicle functions, including locking, climate conditioning, charging schedules and battery pre-heating, while also accessing real-time vehicle status and location. Digital key functionality and advanced security features ensure convenience, connectivity and peace of mind, whether on the road or at home,” Leapmotor said in a statement.
The B05 is offered in two trim levels, Life and Design. The Life variant is available with both battery options, while the Design version is offered with the larger battery and includes additional interior and comfort features.

Separately, Stellantis is evaluating a deeper use of Leapmotor’s technology. In March, Bloomberg reported that Stellantis is considering adopting electric vehicle architectures and software from its Chinese partner for use in European mass-market brands such as Fiat, Opel, and Peugeot, citing people familiar with the matter. If implemented, it would mark the first instance of a major Western automaker relying on a Chinese-developed vehicle platform for models sold in Europe, according to Bloomberg.
Leapmotor has also been expanding its logistics capabilities to support international growth. In August 2025, the company introduced a dedicated car carrier vessel named “Grande Tianjin,” developed in collaboration with Grimaldi Group, as part of efforts to scale exports to Europe and other overseas markets.
