BYD’s premium brand Denza began pre-sales on Friday for the N8L flash-charging edition in China, expanding its lineup of vehicles equipped with the automaker’s latest ultra-fast charging technology.
The N8L flash-charging edition is priced between 350,000 yuan ($51,210) and 400,000 yuan during the pre-sales period, with buyers receiving up to 18 months of complimentary flash-charging access, the company said.
The six-seat sport utility vehicle comes equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and charging technology capable of supporting up to 1,500 kilowatts of power.
BYD said the vehicle can charge from 10% to 97% in nine minutes, while charging from 10% to 70% takes five minutes.
The hybrid SUV uses a 75.26-kWh battery pack and offers an electric-only driving range of up to 430 kilometers.
Powered by a 2.0-liter hybrid powertrain, the N8L can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just over three seconds, according to the company.
The model is built on BYD’s e3 intelligent vehicle control platform and includes the DiSus-A body control system, enabling functions such as compass turn and crab-walk maneuvers.
It also features BYD’s God’s Eye 5.0 advanced driver assistance system and automatic emergency braking technology.
The N8L is the second flash-charging model launched by Denza this week, following the April 7 pre-sales opening for the N9 flash-charging edition, which is priced between 450,000 yuan and 500,000 yuan.
The rapid rollout suggests BYD is accelerating updates across its model portfolio after unveiling its second-generation Blade Battery and latest flash-charging platform in March.
