Chinese LiDAR manufacturer Seyond said on Friday its cumulative LiDAR deliveries surpassed 1 million units, marking a key milestone for the sensor supplier as it expands production and broadens its customer base.
The announcement coincided with the debut and pre-sales launch of Nio’s flagship ES9 sport utility vehicle, which is equipped with three Seyond LiDAR sensors.
Each ES9 includes one Falcon ultra-long-range LiDAR and two Robin W mid-range wide-angle LiDARs, mounted on the roof and front fenders to provide full-scenario perception coverage, Seyond said.
The company said cumulative deliveries of its Falcon platform have reached 750,000 units, while the Robin platform has surpassed 250,000 units.
Seyond’s annual production capacity currently stands at 1.2 million units, and the company plans to add another 1 million units of capacity this year, it said.
First-quarter shipments reached about 181,400 units, up roughly 340% from a year earlier, according to the company.
Based on current orders and production plans, Seyond said it expects full-year 2026 shipments to rise by around 200%.
The Falcon LiDAR remains Seyond’s primary revenue-generating product and is currently installed across all vehicles under Nio’s main brand.
While most of Seyond’s revenue continues to come from Nio, the company said it has made progress in diversifying its customer base.
Seyond has secured production program orders from 18 automakers and autonomous driving companies, including SAIC Volkswagen, GAC Group and Leapmotor.
