Tesla has launched a seven-seat configuration for the Model Y in the United Kingdom, reintroducing the three-row option exclusively on the Long Range all-wheel drive variant.
The model is priced from £54,490, with the additional third-row seating available for a £2,500 premium over the standard five-seat version. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in May 2026, in line with the five-seat Long Range variant.
The seven-seat layout reduces the WLTP driving range from 391 miles to 372 miles, reflecting the added weight. The configuration remains limited to the Long Range all-wheel drive version, with no confirmation on availability for other variants.
Standard features include a panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, adaptive cruise control and surround-view cameras, alongside Tesla’s central touchscreen interface and rear passenger display.
The third row is primarily designed for children, with reduced legroom compared to the front and second rows. Access is provided through a sliding and folding second-row bench, and rear passengers are equipped with USB-C charging ports.
With all seats in use, the Model Y offers 381 litres of cargo space, expanding to 894 litres when the third row is folded. The configuration does not involve changes to the vehicle’s exterior design.
Tesla had previously offered a seven-seat Model Y but discontinued the option following the Juniper update in early 2025, when the lineup shifted to a five-seat configuration. The three-row version was reintroduced in continental Europe earlier this year before returning to the UK market.
The move reflects Tesla’s positioning of the seven-seat option as a premium feature within the Model Y range, which remains one of the most popular electric SUVs globally.
