RAW Charging has signed a multi-year agreement with ChargePoint to deploy more than 300 new DC fast charging points across the United Kingdom.
The rollout, which is expected to begin this year, includes an initial commitment valued at about $7.5 million. Under the agreement, RAW Charging will expand its existing collaboration with ChargePoint as its technology partner.
The charging stations will operate on the ChargePoint Platform and will be supported by the company’s Assure Pro maintenance service, designed to improve reliability and maximise network uptime.
According to the companies, the integrated system aims to provide drivers with a consistent charging experience, including real-time information on station locations and availability as well as several payment options. These include contactless payment, mobile app-based transactions and roaming services.
The rollout forms part of RAW Charging’s “Connecting Amazing Places” initiative, which focuses on installing charging infrastructure at hospitality, leisure and retail destinations rather than primarily along highway corridors. The company positions itself as a charge point operator specialising in destination charging at high-traffic venues.
“As the UK’s leading CPO dedicated to hospitality, leisure and retail we are committed to providing seamless charging for the millions of visitors to our world class destinations,” said Jason Simpson. “The ChargePoint ecosystem provides a best-in-class driver experience for drivers providing easy station location and availability data alongside contactless, app-based and roaming payment options.”
Rick Wilmer said the partnership would support the expansion of charging infrastructure in the UK. “By collaborating with RAW Charging, we’re combining proven technology with operational excellence to ensure UK drivers have fast, dependable charging wherever they go.”
