Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng has begun pre-sales in China for the battery-electric version of its X9 multi-purpose vehicle, expanding the model range two months after introducing an extended-range electric variant.
The company said on Thursday that it is accepting consumer reservations for the 2026 seven-seat X9 BEV, offering five variants: 665 Max, 650 Ultra SE, 650 Ultra, 750 Ultra and 710 AWD Ultra. Xpeng has not disclosed pre-sale pricing but said customers can place an order with a 2,000 yuan ($290) deposit, which will be applied as a 7,000 yuan discount toward the final purchase price.

Xpeng said the 2026 X9 BEV is the world’s longest-range pure-electric seven-seater, with a maximum range of 750 km under China’s CLTC testing cycle. The vehicle is built on an 800-volt platform and supports 5C supercharging, allowing for faster charging times compared with earlier-generation systems.
The automaker also highlighted energy efficiency improvements, saying the X9 BEV achieves a CLTC energy consumption rating of 15.9 kilowatt-hours per 100 km. Smart driving functions are powered by Xpeng’s in-house developed Turing AI chip, delivering effective computing power of up to 2,250 trillion operations per second, according to the company.

Xpeng did not provide detailed specifications on how the Turing AI chip is deployed in the X9 but indicated it is expected to follow the same approach used in recent updates to other models. Earlier this month, the company launched updated versions of the P7+ sedan, G6 and G9 sport utility vehicles, and added extended-range options for the G7 SUV, all of which come standard with one Turing AI chip and offer higher-performance systems as paid upgrades.
The X9 was first launched in China on Jan. 1, 2024, marking Xpeng’s entry into the MPV segment, and was initially available only as a battery-electric model. On Nov. 20 last year, the company introduced the extended-range X9, its first EREV model, with a starting price of 309,800 yuan. The 2025 X9 BEV went on sale in April 2025, priced from 359,800 yuan.
