Avatr Technology has produced its first batch of right-hand-drive Avatr 07 sport utility vehicles, marking a new step in its overseas expansion as the Chinese electric vehicle maker prepares to ship the models to Thailand.
Avatr said on Wednesday via Weibo that the vehicles were built at its Chongqing manufacturing facility and are set for export to Thailand, a right-hand-drive market. The move comes as the company accelerates its international rollout beyond China, where vehicles are produced for left-hand-drive use.

The brand, which is backed by Changan Automobile, CATL and Huawei, officially entered the Thai market in September 2024 with the launch of the Avatr 11 SUV. Two months later, it opened its first showroom in the country and delivered the Avatr 11 to more than 100 initial customers, the company has said.
The Avatr 07 was launched in China in September 2024 and became the brand’s first model to offer extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants alongside battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions. In September last year, Avatr also introduced the 2026 model-year Avatr 07, which currently starts at RMB 219,900 ($31,660) in the Chinese market.

The company showcased the Avatr 07 in Thailand in November, signalling its intention to broaden its product lineup in Southeast Asia. Thailand is one of the region’s fastest-growing EV markets, supported by government incentives and expanding charging infrastructure.
Avatr’s overseas push comes as it moves closer to a public listing. The company submitted an initial public offering application in Hong Kong at the end of November, with the listing expected to be completed in the second quarter, according to earlier disclosures.
