ADNOC Distribution has opened a large electric vehicle fast-charging hub on a major highway linking Abu Dhabi and Dubai, signalling a broader push to expand charging infrastructure across the United Arab Emirates.
The new site, described by the company as an “EV Megahub,” features 60 DC fast-charging points and is located along the E11 highway, one of the country’s busiest transport corridors. ADNOC Distribution said the project forms part of its plan to electrify most of the UAE’s highway network by the end of 2027.
“The inauguration of ADNOC Distribution’s EV Megahub is a significant step in implementing the UAE’s National Electric Vehicles Policy,” said Engineer Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. He added that expanding high-speed charging is central to reducing transport-related energy consumption and supporting the Global EV Market initiative, which targets electric vehicles accounting for 50% of cars on UAE roads by 2050.
ADNOC Distribution operates more than 500 service stations in the UAE, alongside over 170 in Saudi Arabia and more than 240 in Egypt. The company said it currently runs nearly 370 EV charging points under its E2GO network and plans further expansion as demand for electric vehicles grows.
