Kia unveiled sporty GT variants of its EV3, EV4 and EV5 electric models at the Brussels Motor Show 2026, expanding its performance-oriented lineup alongside the world premiere of the smaller EV2.
The new GT versions are based on Kia’s 400-volt electric architecture and feature all-wheel drive, positioning them below the brand’s flagship 800-volt GT models such as the EV6 GT and EV9 GT. Those larger models, built on the high-voltage version of Kia’s E-GMP platform, offer significantly higher outputs of 478 kW and 374 kW respectively, with rear-biased drivetrains.

In contrast, the 400-volt platform underpinning the EV3, EV4 and EV5 is designed for more compact and affordable vehicles. In standard form, these models use a front-mounted primary drive unit. For the newly revealed GT variants, Kia has added a secondary electric motor on the rear axle, creating all-wheel-drive configurations with more moderate performance figures.

The EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV4 Fastback GT are equipped with a combined system output of 215 kW. Kia said the front motor delivers 145 kW, slightly lower than the output in some front-wheel-drive versions, while the rear motor contributes 70 kW. These GT models are offered exclusively with the larger 81.4 kWh battery, compared with the standard EV3 and EV4 range, which also includes a smaller 58.3 kWh option.

Kia said the GT versions feature electronically controlled suspension with GT-specific tuning, larger 20-inch alloy wheels and performance-focused tyres, aimed at improving cornering stability and overall handling.
The larger EV5 GT offers a higher combined output of 225 kW and receives similar GT-specific design and chassis enhancements. Kia added that the EV5 GT’s adaptive damping system includes a road preview function capable of detecting road imperfections such as potholes and adjusting damping in real time.

All three GT models feature a dedicated GT driving mode, which modifies power delivery, steering response, suspension settings and cockpit displays. Borrowed from Kia’s 800-volt GT models, the virtual gear shift system and synthetic sound design are standard features, though they can be switched off. Kia said these systems are intended to enhance driver engagement by simulating gear changes and dynamically generated sound effects.

Production of the EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026, with market launch dates to be announced later. Pricing has not yet been disclosed, but Kia said the GT versions will sit at the top of their respective lineups. For reference, current GT-Line variants of the EV3, EV4 and EV5 in Germany are priced from €48,690, €49,440 and €51,990 respectively.
