Dutch fast-charging operator Fastned has commissioned its 50th fast-charging station in Germany, expanding its footprint in Europe’s largest car market as part of the federal Deutschlandnetz charging rollout.
The new site is located in Werl-Büderich, in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia, close to the A44 and A445 motorways linking Dortmund and Soest. The station features 12 ultra-fast charging points, each delivering up to 400 kW, installed under Fastned’s signature yellow canopy to provide weather protection for users.

With the Werl opening, Fastned now operates more than 300 individual charging points across Germany, the company said. The location also offers nearby amenities, including a bakery and a supermarket, aimed at improving the charging experience for drivers.
“The opening of our 50th fast-charging station is not only a significant milestone for Fastned in Germany – it also reflects our ambition to bring fast charging to where it is really needed: along the most important transport corridors in the region,” said Linda Boll, country director of Fastned Germany.
To mark the launch, Fastned said it will offer free fast charging at the Werl-Büderich station from Dec. 17 to Dec. 24, 2025.

The company said Germany has become one of its fastest-growing markets. December is set to be Fastned’s strongest month to date in the country, with seven new stations opening nationwide. “Werl symbolises our current growth – there could not have been a more fitting location for station number 50,” Boll added.
Fastned plans to expand its German network to 75 stations in 2026 and continues to pursue its broader strategy of building around 1,000 fast-charging stations across Europe, as governments and charging operators race to keep pace with rising electric vehicle adoption.
