Xpeng delivered 38,027 vehicles globally in July, up 3.57% from a year earlier but down 5.23% from June, as production of its newly launched Mona L03 sport utility vehicle (SUV) continued to ramp up.
The July result fell short of dealer expectations cited by Deutsche Bank, which had projected deliveries of as many as 45,000 vehicles for the month.
July Deliveries Ease From June
Xpeng delivered 38,027 vehicles in July, compared with 40,126 units in June, which had been its strongest monthly performance so far this year.
According to Deutsche Bank, dealers attributed the lower-than-expected July deliveries primarily to limited supply of the Mona L03 during its launch period.
As of July 31, Xpeng’s cumulative global deliveries reached 1,223,828 vehicles.
During the first seven months of 2026, the company delivered 204,004 vehicles, down 12.78% from the same period last year.
Although deliveries remain below last year’s level, the pace of decline has narrowed steadily since the beginning of the year, following year-on-year decreases of 34.1% in January and 49.9% in February.
Mona L03 Production Ramps Up
Xpeng unveiled the Mona L03 globally in Munich, Germany, on July 16, with prices in China starting at 123,800 yuan (US$18,240).
Customer deliveries began on July 22, while the company said large-scale deliveries across China are expected to accelerate in August.
The model attracted strong initial demand, with firm orders exceeding 20,000 units within seven minutes of launch.
Citing dealer information, Deutsche Bank said the Mona L03 has accumulated more than 50,000 non-cancellable orders, while waiting times for the battery-electric version range from 13 to 17 weeks.
The August and September delivery figures are expected to provide a clearer indication of the company’s ability to convert those orders into vehicle deliveries.
Overseas Expansion Continues
Xpeng said the Mona L03 will be introduced in 65 countries and regions during 2026 as part of its international expansion strategy.
The company also outlined plans to strengthen its presence in Australia by launching five new models in the second half of 2026 while expanding its local sales and service network.
Separately, Xpeng announced that its Next Generation Pilot (NGP) assisted driving system, powered by its in-house VLA 2.0 artificial intelligence model, is scheduled to begin a global rollout in 2027.
The company noted that expanding assisted driving technology internationally will require adapting to different regulatory frameworks and liability requirements across markets.
Xpeng also said the electric vehicles it delivered between January and July are expected to reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by more than 3.23 million tonnes.
