General Motors has begun rolling out a native Apple Music app for select Cadillac and Chevrolet vehicles, offering owners expanded in-car music access as the automaker continues to phase out Apple CarPlay across more of its lineup.
GM said the Apple Music app is becoming available starting Monday on select 2025 and newer models, with deeper integration into the vehicles’ infotainment systems rather than relying on smartphone mirroring.
The initial rollout includes Cadillac CT5 (2025–2026) and electric models such as the Escalade IQ and upcoming Vistiq, as well as Chevrolet Blazer EV, Equinox EV and Silverado EV. Additional Chevrolet models, including the 2027 Bolt, are expected to follow, while Buick and GMC vehicles will be added later.
For Cadillac vehicles, the new Apple Music integration supports Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos, which GM said is designed to create “an immersive, three-dimensional sound environment” tailored to each vehicle’s interior acoustics.
The launch comes as GM moves further away from Apple CarPlay, a decision that has drawn criticism from some customers. The automaker has said it plans to gradually discontinue CarPlay support in more vehicles, following its earlier removal from new electric models.

Alongside the Apple Music rollout, GM said it is making audio streaming standard through its OnStar Basics service for all 2025 and newer vehicles in the United States and Canada. The company said customers will be able to access Apple Music, Spotify and other streaming apps at no additional connectivity cost for eight years from the date of vehicle purchase.
