BMW has successfully integrated the Tesla Supercharger network into its BMW Charging Network in the United States, immediately adding over 2,000 Tesla sites and more than 25,000 individual Supercharger points for its electric vehicle customers.
The move significantly expands the charging infrastructure available to BMW EV drivers and supports the broader automotive industry’s shift toward the North American Charging Standard (NACS). With the inclusion of the Supercharger network, BMW now provides access to approximately 180,000 public charging points across North America, including networks from partners like Electrify America and ChargePoint.

BMW EVs can connect to the Supercharger network through two methods. For NACS-only Superchargers, current models, including the i4, i5, i7, and iX, require a CCS–NACS DC adapter. BMW-approved adapters are scheduled to be sold as accessories starting in the second quarter of 2026. At select Tesla sites equipped with the proprietary Magic Dock, older models like the i3, as well as current models, can charge without requiring additional customer-supplied hardware.
All supported charging stations, including Tesla Superchargers, are visible in the vehicle’s navigation system and the My BMW app via the Shell Recharge service. Compatible vehicles can utilize the Plug & Charge function at Tesla Superchargers, allowing charging sessions to begin automatically upon plugging in.

Pricing for the charging sessions adheres to Tesla’s standard rate structure for non-Tesla vehicles, with billing managed through the customer’s Shell Recharge account within the My BMW app.
Looking forward, BMW announced that it plans to begin integrating native NACS ports directly into new vehicle production starting in 2026, commencing with the i5 M60 and followed by models such as the next-generation iX3.
