Smart, the automotive brand operating as a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Geely, has filed regulatory documentation for its all-new #6 EHD sedan, signaling the company’s continued expansion into new market segments.
The vehicle was included in the latest catalog of models slated for sale approval, released Friday by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) for public comment, a major final step in the regulatory process. The public comment period is open from December 6 to 12.

The Smart #6 EHD is designated as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). Official dimensions indicate the model is the largest in the Smart brand’s current lineup, measuring 4,906 mm in length, 1,922 mm in width, and 1,508 mm in height, with a 2,926 mm wheelbase.
The five-seat sedan has a curb weight ranging from 1,990 to 2,099 kilograms and is designed for a maximum speed of $200$ kilometers per hour. Power comes from a $1.5$-liter engine with a maximum output of $120$ kW. The vehicle’s lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries are supplied by CATL and Svolt Energy.
