Chinese automaker Changan has disclosed regulatory images and technical specifications for a new five-door version of its Lumin electric hatchback, marking a significant update to the small EV first introduced in three-door form in 2022.
Images published by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) show that the five-door Lumin features revised front and rear bumpers, newly designed aerodynamic wheels and minor updates to the lighting units. The changes are intended to enhance practicality while retaining the compact profile of the original model.

According to MIIT data, the five-door Lumin measures 4,785 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width and 1,460 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,200 mm. This compares with the smaller three-door version at 3,293 mm long, 1,700 mm wide and 1,545 mm high, with a 1,980 mm wheelbase.
The five-door variant is powered by a single electric motor producing 35 kW, enabling a top speed of 101 km/h, and has a curb weight of 875 kg. Changan plans to launch the model in China in the first quarter of 2026.

The regulatory unveiling comes as Changan accelerates its long-term electrification push. At the Auto Guangzhou 2025 motor show, the automaker outlined plans to introduce more than 50 new energy vehicle models by 2030. All upcoming vehicles will be built on the company’s new Tiānshū intelligent architecture, which is designed to support its next generation of electric and intelligent vehicles.
Changan has also set a target for overseas markets to account for more than 30% of its total vehicle deliveries by the end of the decade, underlining a growing strategic emphasis on international expansion alongside its domestic EV rollout.
