DHL Summit Solutions, Inc. (DSSI), a joint venture between DHL Supply Chain APAC and JG Summit Holdings, has deployed one of the largest private electric logistics fleets in the Philippines, adding 23 electric vehicles and 22 prime movers to its operations, the company said.
The new fleet integrates zero-emission vehicles with high-efficiency prime movers equipped with smart routing and load-planning systems. All assets are linked through DHL’s Connected Control Tower digital platform, which provides real-time visibility, predictive maintenance and automated scheduling to improve fleet utilisation and reliability. The company did not disclose the specific vehicle models, although a press image showed electric trucks from China’s Foton.

DSSI said the electric fleet also offers operational advantages in congested urban areas, where electric vehicles are permitted to operate during cargo truck-ban hours in key city centres, allowing greater flexibility for time-critical deliveries.
The deployment supports DHL Group’s global targets to electrify more than 66% of its first- and last-mile delivery fleet by 2030 and to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. “The partnership raises the bar for sustainable logistics in the country while strengthening our ability to support customers with reliable and future-ready transport services,” said Edwin Wong, CEO of DHL Supply Chain Southeast Asia and interim managing director of DHL Summit Solutions.

Alan Surposa, chief resource officer at JG Summit Holdings, said the investment “helps shape a cleaner, smart future for the Philippines,” while Warren Bodley, vice president of transport at DHL Supply Chain Southeast Asia, said the new fleet gives operations teams “the tools to work smarter and safer.”
The Philippines rollout follows broader regional expansion by DHL in electric mobility logistics. In March 2025, DHL Group said it was expanding its EV competence centres across Asia-Pacific to support battery, raw materials and electric mobility industries. In November 2023, DHL Express Malaysia added 44 electric vans and seven electric scooters to its regional delivery fleet.
