The number of competitors for the Tesla Model 3 is growing. The latest, there is the Nezha S which is an electric sedan from China.
Actually, the Nezha S was scheduled to make its debut at the 2021 Beijing Auto Show which was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. So this electric car was launched online.
Nezha or Neta is a new brand founded in 2018 by Hozon Auto. The model range consists of two SUVs called the U and V, with the S being the latest addition.
The Nezha S has the front look following the split light trend, but the upper unit is very slim. A sculpted grille with sporty intakes, curved fenders and a clean profile design make the Nezha S an attractive vehicle. At the rear, there are full-width LED headlights, an integrated spoiler, diffuser, and a sloping roofline that completes the aerodynamic look.

There’s also a luxurious 1,216 Watt audio system with 21 speakers including roof-mounted and integrated speakers with headrests, plus heated, ventilated and massage chairs. Premium materials are used for an upscale look with Alcantara, leather, wood and metal highlighted by lighting.

This sedan is the first of many models based on the new “Shanhai” modular architecture, which supports both full electric (BEV) and range-extender (EREV) variants.
Although it has not announced detailed specifications regarding the drive system, the Chinese car manufacturer hopes that the Nezha S has a NEDC range of 710 km for the electric model and up to 1,100 km for the extender range. They also announced a low power consumption figure of 12 kWh/100 km, thanks to the HozonEPT4.0 battery temperature management system developed with the help of Huawei, and an efficient 92% electric motor.
Reportedly, the Nezha S will also be equipped with Level 4 autonomy with 13 cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, five millimeter wave radars, and two Lidar.
