Leapmotor said its year-to-date sales have exceeded 500,000 units, reaching its original 2025 target more than a month early. The company reaffirmed its goal of selling 1 million vehicles in 2026 and advanced the launch of its upcoming Lafa 5 electric hatchback to November 27, one day earlier than previously planned.
The company began pre-sales of the Lafa 5 on November 7, positioning the model against other compact electric hatchbacks such as the Volkswagen ID.3, SAIC MG4, BYD Dolphin, and Nio Firefly EV.

The Lafa 5 starts at RMB 105,800 during pre-sales and offers a CLTC driving range of up to 605 kilometers. Leapmotor had initially scheduled its debut for November 28, but a new promotional poster confirms the event will be held earlier.
Leapmotor’s strong sales momentum has continued through 2025. The company delivered 70,289 vehicles in October, marking its sixth straight month of record-high monthly deliveries. Between January and October, deliveries reached 465,805 units, an increase of more than 120 percent from a year earlier. The rapid sales growth led Leapmotor to revise its full-year 2025 target in August to 580,000–650,000 units.

The automaker, backed by Stellantis, also achieved a milestone in profitability, reporting RMB 30 million in net income for the first half of 2025, its first positive half-year result. Leapmotor is now the second Chinese NEV manufacturer, after Li Auto, to reach half-year profitability as competition intensifies across the domestic EV market.
