British startup Longbow has unveiled its first electric sports car, the Speedster, completing the model’s development in only six months. The hand-built vehicle marks the company’s debut in what it calls the “Featherweight Electric Vehicle” (FEV) category, showcasing its new “Speed of Lightness” engineering philosophy aimed at accelerating vehicle creation without compromising performance or quality.

According to Longbow, the Speedster weighs under 1,000 kilograms and features a bespoke aluminium chassis that combines structural rigidity with lightweight efficiency. Powered by an electric motor and a module-to-chassis battery system, the open-top model delivers a WLTP range of up to 275 miles and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds. The Speedster is priced from £84,995, with first deliveries expected in 2026.
Longbow says the vehicle was engineered and built entirely in the UK, with the development process reduced from the industry-standard 18 months to just half that time. A closed-roof Roadster version is also planned, expected to start at £64,995 (including VAT).
