Hubject has announced two new partnerships to expand its Plug&Charge and eRoaming capabilities across Europe, collaborating with fast-charging provider Electra and Icelandic platform operator eONE. The initiatives aim to simplify electric vehicle (EV) charging by enabling seamless authentication and payment without apps or cards.
Under the agreement with Electra, Hubject will integrate the French company’s high-power charging network into its intercharge eRoaming platform. This will enable ISO 15118-based Plug&Charge functionality, allowing drivers of compatible vehicles to automatically start and stop charging sessions simply by connecting their EVs. Electra currently operates over 500 charging stations and 3,000 charging points across nine European countries, with plans to expand to 2,200 stations and 15,000 points by 2030.

Hubject CEO Christian Hahn said the partnership aligns with the company’s mission “to provide EV drivers with convenient, reliable charging options,” while Electra CEO Aurélien de Meaux called it “a key milestone between two European players committed to seamless electric mobility.”
In a separate initiative, Hubject is bringing its Plug&Charge technology to Iceland for the first time through a partnership with eONE. The collaboration will initially deploy the system on Orkan’s network of 19 high-power charging sites, each capable of delivering between 300 and 500 kW. Full rollout is expected by the end of the first quarter of 2026.

Hahn said Iceland represents “exactly the kind of forward-thinking market where Plug&Charge technology can make an immediate impact,” citing its high EV adoption rates and renewable energy grid. Hafrún Þorvaldsdóttir, CEO of eONE, added that the technology “makes charging as easy as just plugging the car in and letting the system do the rest.”
