The far side airbag system helped limit occupant interaction during side impacts, while head restraints provided effective protection against whiplash in rear-end tests. In child safety assessments, the vehicle achieved maximum points in tests simulating frontal and lateral collisions, and its Child Restraint System (CRS) installation check also received full marks.
In the Vulnerable Road Users category, the Mazda6e scored 74%, offering good levels of protection for pedestrians and cyclists. The model’s autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system performed effectively, and its door-opening warning system added an additional safety measure. For Safety Assist technologies, the Mazda6e achieved a 77% rating, supported by its AEB, lane support, speed assistance, and driver monitoring systems.
