Hyundai Motor America reported record September sales of 71,003 units, a 14% increase from a year earlier, marking the company’s best September on record. The automaker set new highs across electrified models, with EV sales up 153% compared with September 2024, led by the Ioniq 5 and hybrid versions of the Santa Fe and Elantra.
Retail sales rose 7% year-on-year to 57,435 units, with electrified models accounting for 38% of the retail mix. The Ioniq 5 recorded a 151% jump in retail deliveries, while Santa Fe and Elantra hybrid sales increased 45% and 89% respectively.

In the third quarter, Hyundai posted total sales of 239,069 units, up 13% from Q3 2024 and the highest in company history for the period. Retail sales for the quarter climbed 11% to 209,520 units, with record results for the Elantra N, Palisade, Santa Fe family, and Ioniq 5.
As part of its EV strategy, Hyundai is lowering prices on the 2026 Ioniq 5 lineup by up to $9,800 depending on trim, while maintaining $7,500 cash incentives for 2025 models through October. The automaker said the move reflects its commitment to affordability and volume growth, supported by upcoming U.S. production at its Metaplant facility.

“September marked our strongest third quarter on record, fueled by a diverse product lineup, outstanding dealer support, and robust consumer demand,” said Randy Parker, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America.
