Aito, the automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and Seres Group, has expanded its flagship M9 SUV lineup with the addition of four-seat variants, offering new configurations alongside the existing five- and six-seat models.
The new four-seat M9 was unveiled on Monday evening during Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) fall product launch event. Aito introduced one extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and one battery electric vehicle (BEV) variant, priced from RMB 559,800 ($78,670) and RMB 589,800 respectively. Both share the same exterior styling and core specifications as current models, with the addition of a purple exterior paint option.

The M9 EREV is powered by a 1.5-liter engine serving as a range-extender generator, producing up to 112 kW, and paired with dual electric motors rated at 165 kW and 200 kW. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, with a top speed of 200 km/h. The model carries a 52-kWh battery pack, delivering a China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) range of 266 km.
The BEV version features a dual-motor setup with 160 kW at the front and 230 kW at the rear. Built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. The variant is equipped with a 100-kWh CATL ternary lithium battery, offering a CLTC range of 605 km and the ability to recharge 150 km of range in just five minutes.

First launched on Dec. 26, 2023, the M9 is Aito’s third model after the M5 and M7. Initially released as a six-seat SUV, the brand added five-seat versions on Sept. 10, 2024, and introduced the 2025 model year M9 in March. The broader M9 lineup currently includes seven trims priced between RMB 469,800 and RMB 569,800.
Alongside the M9 updates, Aito also launched the refreshed M7 SUV at the HIMA event, priced from RMB 279,800. The company reported more than 10,000 firm orders for the updated M7 within the first five minutes of launch.
