Mercedes triples EVs sales over first quarter of 2022

Mercedes-Benz in the first quarter of 2022 sold 67,800 electric and plug-in hybrid cars, an increase of 37 percent.

Encouragingly, sales of the electric EQ model more than tripled to 21,900 (+210 percent) compared to the first quarter of last year.

For plug-in Hybrid cars, an increase of eight percent to 45,900 in the first quarter. In the first quarter of last year, Mercedes-Benz only sold about 3,475 PHEVs less than in 2022 – on the other hand, the manufacturer was able to increase BEV sales by around 14,800 units.

Overall, BEVs and PHEVs account for 15 percent of all Mercedes-Benz new car sales worldwide.
