Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Leapmotor plans to establish its European production base at Stellantis’ vehicle assembly plant in Zaragoza, Spain, according to FNews reports.
The facility will initially produce Leapmotor’s B-series models, with manufacturing expected to start in the third quarter of 2026 following plant modifications. The first vehicle scheduled to roll off the line will be the B10 compact SUV, followed by the B05, according to the report.
Leapmotor introduced the B10 in China in April 2025 as the first global model in its B-series lineup. The B10 is set to debut in Europe at the IAA Mobility 2025 event in Munich, Germany, on September 8, with deliveries expected shortly thereafter. The B05, which has not yet launched in China, will also be unveiled at the event. Pricing for the B05 may be below RMB 100,000 ($14,000) domestically and potentially under £30,000 ($40,520) in Europe.
Stellantis previously agreed in October 2023 to invest €1.5 billion ($1.7 billion) for a roughly 20 percent stake in Leapmotor, becoming its largest external shareholder. The partnership has already included production of Leapmotor’s T03 compact EV at a Stellantis facility in Poland, though production there was halted in March 2025 as alternative plans were evaluated.
The Zaragoza facility is expected to strengthen Leapmotor’s European presence and support the company’s broader international expansion strategy, particularly for its B-series EV lineup.
