KIA has officially announced that the EV9 concept electric car will be launched in 2023. This electric concept car was first showcased in 2021, to be precise at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The EV9 design does look like a future car, with a boxy shape. The production version of the EV9 may also retain the claimed specs. In the concept car, the EV9 uses a 77.4 kWh battery that can go 482 km in full condition. In addition, super fast charging will also be provided, which can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
The KIA EV9 may have 2 electric motors with an AWD drive system. Although the power output of the EV9 is not as violent as the KIA EV6 GT, which is equivalent to 585 hp, it is possible that the EV9’s power is equivalent to the EV6 of the mid-range model, in the range of 325 hp. The EV9 will be the first car to introduce ‘AutoMode’ autonomous driving technology, which will be available to all cars by 2026. The ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) feature in the EV9 will include an advanced Highway Driving Pilot system, supposedly to allow the car to run automatically on expressways.
