Audi has rolled out a new entertainment feature across several of its electric and combustion-powered models in the United States, allowing drivers and passengers to play video games via the in-car AirConsole system. The feature turns the car into a mobile gaming console by enabling games to be played on the central or passenger display, with smartphones functioning as controllers.
AirConsole, already available in select BMW and Mini models, has now been integrated into Audi’s infotainment platform through the Audi Application Store. Compatible vehicles include electric models such as the A6 E-Tron and Q6 E-Tron, as well as gas-powered variants like the A5 and Q5.

The platform currently supports 12 games, including titles such as GoKart GO!, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, and Pictionary Car Party. Vehicles equipped with Audi’s Dynamic Privacy mode—which allows two distinct views on the same screen—can even run games for front-seat passengers while the car is in motion.
“To start playing, users scan a QR code displayed on the screen, turning their phones into controllers,” Audi said. “A separate smartphone app is recommended, though games can also be played through a mobile browser.”

A myAudi account and an active Audi connect Plus trial or subscription are required to access AirConsole. The system depends on a stable 4G LTE or 5G connection, both for infotainment and the smartphone-based controllers. While basic gameplay features are free, users must subscribe to unlock unlimited player support and remove advertising interruptions.
Audi noted that while the system is functional over the internet, users may occasionally experience input lag due to the lack of a dedicated local network between the vehicle and smartphones.
