BYD sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao will introduce the Tai 7 hybrid SUV in the fourth quarter of 2025, marking the second model in its Tai series following the Tai 3.
The upcoming vehicle will expand the brand’s offerings in the family SUV segment with a focus on urban utility and extended range.

The Tai 7 will be the first hybrid SUV from Fang Cheng Bao to use a unibody chassis, which enhances interior space and driving comfort. The vehicle measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, and 1,865 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. The company said the model will feature the largest cabin in its current lineup and will reflect the brand’s sporty design language.
The SUV will come in two versions: an all-wheel-drive long-range variant equipped with a 35.6-kWh battery, offering up to 180 kilometers of CLTC electric-only range, and a two-wheel-drive standard-range version with a 26.6-kWh battery and 135 kilometers of electric range. With both fuel and electric power, the total driving range can exceed 1,300 kilometers. A pure electric version of the Tai 7 is not planned for the near term.

Additional features include BYD’s proprietary “God’s Eye” smart driving system, with customers able to choose between LiDAR-equipped and non-LiDAR models. The Tai 7 is expected to meet a broader range of urban mobility needs while expanding Fang Cheng Bao’s presence in the growing family vehicle segment.
Fang Cheng Bao was officially launched by BYD in August 2023. Its current offerings include the Bao 5 and Bao 8 hybrid off-road SUVs under the Bao series and the Tai 3 pure electric SUV under the Tai series.

The Tai product line was introduced in December 2024 to target family-oriented customers, complementing the off-road focus of the Bao series.
