Norwegian electric delivery vehicle manufacturer Paxster has inaugurated a new production facility in Sarpsborg, aiming to expand its annual output by 2,250 vehicles as it eyes further growth in European and global markets.
The factory, built at a cost of 55 million Norwegian kroner (approximately 4.78 million euros), will bolster Paxster’s manufacturing capabilities on a 3,800-square-metre site with a workforce of 56. The company noted that the facility could scale production further with the introduction of an additional shift, depending on market demand.
“This investment marks a significant step forward in our mission to support sustainable last-mile delivery solutions,” Paxster said in a statement. The Sarpsborg-based company, founded in 2013, is Norway’s only electric vehicle manufacturer and has produced over 3,000 units to date.
Paxster’s customer base includes prominent postal service providers such as the UK’s Royal Mail, France’s La Poste, and New Zealand Post. The company has supplied vehicles to clients in 20 countries, with ongoing negotiations reported with several major European delivery operators.
The flagship Paxster XL delivery vehicle is priced from €19,685 and is designed for last-mile urban logistics. It offers a load volume of 1,800 litres, a top speed of 60 kph, and a practical range of 80 kilometres. The vehicle features a 9.54 kW electric motor and a 10 kWh LiFePO4 battery, which fully charges in approximately nine hours.
The factory launch represents a critical phase in Paxster’s efforts to meet growing demand for zero-emission delivery vehicles across Europe and beyond.
