Tata Motors has launched the first 10 TATA.ev MegaChargers across major Indian highways and cities, marking the initial phase of a larger rollout that aims to establish 500 ultra-fast EV charging stations nationwide. The new network is part of Tata’s broader commitment to double India’s available charging points to 400,000 by 2027.
The TATA.ev MegaCharger network is being developed by Tata.ev, the electric mobility arm of Tata Motors focused on 4-wheeled electric vehicles. The newly inaugurated chargers are primarily situated along key highway corridors, including Mumbai–Ahmedabad, Delhi–Jaipur, Pune–Nashik, and in the cities of Bengaluru and Udaipur.

Each MegaCharger delivers a minimum of 120kW DC fast charging, while the flagship site in Vadodara boasts a capacity of 400kW and can charge up to six EVs simultaneously. Tata EV owners are eligible for tariff discounts of up to 25% at these locations. Most sites include WiFi and food outlets, offering added convenience for users.
“These first 10 TATA.ev MegaCharger sites in key EV corridors of the country are the first tranche of a superfast charging network that we will have across major highways,” said Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Passenger Electric Mobility. “The TATA.ev MegaCharger network will increasingly connect all major cities across India to remove charging anxiety.”
Some of the chargers are co-branded with partners such as Statiq and ChargeZone, and Tata.ev is also working under an open collaboration model with other charge point operators and oil marketing companies to expand charging access across India.
The initiative comes amid rising EV adoption in India and growing concerns around infrastructure gaps. Tata.ev’s rapid infrastructure buildout aims to address range anxiety and support seamless long-distance electric travel, helping accelerate the country’s shift to clean mobility.
