Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng announced that the 100,000th Mona M03 sedan has rolled off the production line, marking a significant milestone for the company’s latest model.
Xpeng said on Weibo that the achievement, reached just seven months after the Mona M03’s launch, sets a record for the fastest production of a battery electric vehicle (BEV) by a new Chinese automaker. The event took place at Xpeng’s Zhaoqing factory in Guangdong, attended by company chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng, along with Mona M03 owners.

The Mona M03, which officially launched on August 27, 2024, with a starting price of RMB 119,800 ($16,520), has been a key driver of Xpeng’s recent delivery growth. The model’s affordability—about half the price of Tesla’s Model 3—has positioned it as a strong contender in China’s competitive EV market. Xpeng began delivering the Mona M03 on August 30, 2024, after receiving over 30,000 orders within 48 hours of its launch.
The sedan is available in two versions: an entry-level model with a CLTC range of 515 kilometers and a long-range variant offering 620 kilometers, priced at RMB 119,800 and RMB 129,800, respectively. Xpeng is also taking orders for a Max variant, featuring a 580-kilometer range and advanced autonomous driving technology, set for delivery in May.
